Benedict Medicine Consortium offers guidance and encouragement for clinicians in primary care who wish to fashion their practices in accordance with Catholic Social Teaching. Clinician-members benefit from the fellowship and practical guidance of others who share their passion for primary care centered on the Imago Dei.

Sadly, too many faithful individuals and families have grown to distrust the secular mainstream medical establishment--and with good reason. Benedict Medicine Consortium seeks to connect the faithful to Christ-centered physicians offering excellent primary care based on the idea that good medicine always upholds-- and never compromises-- one's deeply held beliefs.

A: No. The Benedict Medicine Consortium is an association of primary care medical practices that all have in common their commitment to upholding the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic bioethics in their practices. 

Q: Is the Benedict Medicine Consortium an agency of any particular church or denomination? 

A: The Benedict Medicine Consortium is not affiliated with any ecclesial body or denomination.  It is founded by a lay Catholic physician who has based the principles of the Consortium on the primary elements of Catholic Social Teaching, as they apply to primary care medicine in a 21st Century American setting. 

Q: I'm a primary care clinician who is interested in practicing according to these principles. How can the Benedict Medicine Consortium support me in this effort? 

A: The Consortium was created for dedicated faithful people like you! It exists to join faithful medical professionals in a supportive Christian community. In so doing, clinical members give guidance and encouragement to others on the journey. We can help connect you to other similiar-minded professionals in your geographic area with whom you may wish to collaborate. Or perhaps you'd rather connect with others practicing according to CST principles elsewhere in the country, who may be able to give you practical advice or personal witness of their experience. Lastly, the Consortium may be a source of patient referrals, directing people in your community who are eager to become patients in a primary care practice with the hallmarks of the Benedict Medicine Consortium.
