Happy Feast Day of St. Benedict!

Today we honor the life and spiritual legacy of St. Benedict of Nursia, patron and namesake of the Benedict Medicine Consortium. St. Benedict rejected the trappings of nobility and its associated corrupting lifestyle, choosing instead a life of spiritual discernment as a hermit in a cave in Subiaco. His Rule of St. Benedict served as the foundation of Western monasticism and is instructive to the deepening of the spiritual life among religious and laypeople alike.
The message of the Benedict Medicine Consortium will be center stage in the plenary presentation of the Catholic Medical Association’s Annual Educational Conference, being held from September 4-6th, 2025 at the Kansas City Marriott-Downtown. The talk is titled, “Benedict Medicine: Creating a Culture of Catholic Primary Care”. The CMA’s online publication, The Pulse of Catholic Medicine, published this preview:

A Practical Approach Toward a Culture of Catholic Primary Care - Catholic Medical Association
