The Benedict Medicine Consortium is pleased to be represented at the Catholic Medical Association’s Annual Educational Conference, which is being held at the Caribe Royal Resort in Orlando, Florida, starting today and running through September 8th. The CMA annual conference is a great way for Catholic medical professionals to grow in fellowship, as well as learn about aspects of medical practice informed by our Catholic faith.
On Thursday, September 5th at 2:30pm (Caribbean Ballroom) I will be speaking about “Threats to a Catholic Anthropology in Primary Care Practice: A Call to Action”. In the talk I’ll address four key principles of Catholic Social Teaching and how they can be applied to an authentically Catholic primary care response to the assaults on Christian principles that are present in contemporary medical culture. Moreover, I will discuss some ways we can formulate a systematic approach—a “call to action”, if you will—to these threats, and in so doing conform our practices and ourselves more fully to the light of truth, in imitation of the Divine Physician.
